Doubt & Answer Explanation

Doubt

Calculate the mass of AL2O3 which contains double the number of oxygen atoms in 192g of oxygen gas

Answer Explanation

Let me carry forward the answer from your attempt. As you mentioned, the number of O atoms is 6 x 6.023 x 1023 = 6 No.

There are three oxygen atoms in 1 atom of Al2O3. So number of Al2O3 atoms = number of O atoms/3 = 2No.

Hence, moles of Al2O3 = 2. Mass of Al2O3 = 2 x 102 = 204 grams.
