Answer Explanation

Reaction :-

milli moles of NaOH = 200 * 0.1 = 20 m-moles
Milli-moles of CO₂ used are = 1
Since, CO2 is limiting reagent in this case,
Therefore, 2 moles of NaOH will react with 1 mole of HCl and 1 mole of Na₂CO3 will form.

Therefore 200 ml solution will contain 18 m-moles of NaOH and 1 m-mole of Na₂CO₃ .

Now this solution is neutralized by HCl solution.

For complete neutralization , total milli-moles of HCl required = 19
and volume of system is 200 ml + 200ml = 400 ml

molarity = 19/400 = 0.0475
and normality = 0.0475 N ( n factor is one)
