0.36g of an organic compound on combution gave 1.1g of CO2 and 0.54g of H2O. what are the percentages of carbon and hydrogen in the compound?

Answer Explanation

1.1 gms of CO2 means .025 mole of CO2 => 0.025 mole of C => 0.15gm of C
And .54gm of H2O means 0.03 mole of H2O => .06 mole of H => .06gm of H

% C = 41.67%

% H = 16.67%
