Net force on the ring = zero.

Therefore, force on the ring because of the charge = tension in the ring. This tension balances the force because of the charge and makes the net force on the ring to be zero.

Now force on the ring because of the charge is the same as the force on the charge because of the ring.

Force on the charge because of the ring = field of the ring at its centre x q. The field at the centre of a ring is zero. So, the net force on the charge q, the force on the ring because of the charge q and the tension in the ring are all zero.
