CET - Jammu and Kashmir

General Information

Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations has been assigned the task of conducting Common Entrance Test, JK CET by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Common Entrance Test is also known as BPEE CET. It is held for admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate professional courses in the state.

Both the Government aided and affiliated private institutions in J&K will accept the merit ranking of CET for admission into various programs.

The test will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Board of the Professional Entrance Examinations Act, 2002, Jammu and Kashmir, Reservation Act, 2004 , J&K Reservation Rules, 2005, rules , orders , notifications and directions issued/ to be issued by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir from be time to time concerning undergraduate professional education in medical, agriculture and engineering fields.

Courses offered:

•Bachelor of Medical MBBS, BVSC, Animal Husbandry, BUMS and BAMS courses
•Bachelor of Dental BDS,
•Bachelor of Engineering
•Bachelor of Agriculture B.Sc Agriculture and B.Sc Forestry

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for common entrance test must full fill the following eligibility conditions:

1.Must be permanent residents of J&K State as defined in Section 6 of the Constitution of the J&K. Passed Hr. Sec. Part-II (12th / 10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized institution.

2. Statutory Board with 50% marks in case of general category candidates and 40% in case of reserved category candidates.

3.Passed 10+2 examination:-

a) with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as elective subjects
in case of admission to MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc, BAMS, Physiotherapy,
B.Sc. Agri, B.Sc. Forestry, B.Sc. Sericulture, B.Sc. Horticulture
& B.F.Sc, B.Sc. Nursing (For female candidates only), B.Sc.
Radiation, B.Sc. Operation Theatre Tech., B.Sc. Medical Lab.
Technology.

b) With English, Physics, Chemistry and Math as their elective
subjects in case of admission to Bachelor of Engineering courses.

c) With English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Math as elective
subject in case of admission to B.Tech Agri. Engineering.

Exam Pattern

BPEE CET Entrance has three papers of objective type containing multiple choice questions which are based on knowledge, understanding and application of the relevant subject. These questions are asked from the subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Zoology. Negative marking system is not applied. A separate Notification is issued for a separate counseling for Residual seats. In case of a tie Merit is determined as fllows

a.Candidates obtaining higher mark in Mathematics

b.Candidates obtaining higher marks in mathematics and Physics , if marks in Mathematics are equal

c.Candidates older in age to be preferred if points as per (a) and (b) are equal.
