NERIST ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

General Information

NERIST ENTRANCE EXAMINATION consisting of one paper of 150 marks and three hours duration will be conducted at various centres located in the eight states of North East. All questions will be of objective type with multiple-choice answers. For every wrong answer to a question, 25% (¼th) of the marks carried by the question will be deducted from the aggregate marks obtained by the candidate.

The admission to Degree Module in engineering is made in the following disciplines/branches:-
i) Agricultural Engineering
ii) Civil Engineering
iii)Computer Science & Engineering
iv) Electrical Engineering
v) Electronics & Communication Engineering.
vi) Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility Criteria

•NEE-I: You should pass Class X exam or an equivalent one with science and Maths as your subject of study. You also need to pass in both Maths and Science. If you are awaiting your results of Class X exam, you can also appear for the test.

•NEE-II: The candidate needs to pass Class XII with PCM or PCMB. You can also apply if you have studied a vocational course in Electronics, Farm Machinery & Equipment, Electrical, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Automobile technology or Computer Science at your 10+ 2 level. You can also be eligible if you have NERIST certificate (E&T).

•NEE-III: If you have a Diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering or Mechanical engineering or even in their allied branches, you can appear for this test. You need to have 60% marks in aggregate or in the diploma module of NERIST. You can also apply if you are appearing in the final year of your diploma course.

Exam Pattern

There shall be three different question papers for the two streams (i) 10+2 PCM/PCB/PCMB,
(ii) 10+2 Vocational (Technology) and
(iii) 10+2 Vocational (Forestry).

(i) Pattern of question paper for 10+2 PCM/PCB/PCMB candidates seeking admission to Diploma Module in Engineering/Technology or Degree Module in Forestry:
The question paper shall consist of four sections viz. Sections A, B, C and D.

Section A, B and C shall have to be attempted by all candidates seeking admission to technology stream.
Section A, B and D shall have to be attempted by all candidates seeking admission to forestry stream.

The subjects and distribution of marks shall be as given below:

Section A (Physics): 45 marks
25 questions of 1 mark each
10 questions of 2 marks each

Section B (Chemistry):45marks
25 questions of 1 mark each
10 questions of 2 marks each

Section C (Mathematics): 60 marks
30 questions of 1 mark each
15 questions of 2 marks each

Section D (Biology):60 marks
30 questions of 1 mark each
15 questions of 2 marks each

NEE-II & NEE – III: 15th May, 2010 (Saturday)
NEE-I: 16th May, 2010 (Sunday)
