Punjab - CET

General Information

Punjab Technical University Jalandhar has been appointed by the Government of Punjab as the authority competent to make admissions to the first year of B. Tech. / B. Arch. / B.Pharm. courses being conducted in various Colleges/Institutes/Universities and for conducting Combined Entrance Test (CET– 2010) for residents of Punjab (85% Category only).

The admissions through CET – 2010 will be made for the following Universities/Institutes:

(i) Punjab Technical University’s affiliated Engineering / Pharmacy Colleges / Institutions for Engineering & Technology / Pharmacy Courses.

(ii) Guru Nanak Dev University, Main Campus at Amritsar and its Regional Campus at Jalandhar and Gurdaspur for Engineering Courses.

(iii) Punjabi University, Main Campus at Patiala, its Regional Campus at Guru Ki Kashi, Talwandi Sabo and Rampura Phul (Phul-Mehraj) for Engineering Courses.

(iv) Punjab Agricultural University, College of Agricultural Engineering, Ludhiana for Engineering Courses.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with the one of the following subjects;
o Chemistry
o Biology
o Biotechnology
o Computer Science.
by securing 50% marks in aggregate.

OR

Passed 10th or 10+2 examination with science stream and Passed diploma in any Engineering Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET),

OR

Any such examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education.

OR

Have passed two years certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET) shall be eligible.

Exam Pattern

Punjab-CET includes objective type questions based on the subjects Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. The pattern of question paper follows the multiple choice format. The candidates should mark the answers in the OMR answer sheet.
